Accounts & Instances

How many accounts can I run?

Free: one game instance. Pro: as many copies of Age of Origins as your Mac can run; the only limit is memory and CPU.

Each account needs its own copy of the game. Adding another account

Can I install OriginsBot on multiple Macs?

No. OriginsBot can only be installed and activated on one Mac at a time. Your subscription is tied to a single machine.

Important: If you need to transfer OriginsBot to a different Mac, please contact support to deactivate your current installation first.

Can I use the same account on my phone while using OriginsBot?

No. Camel Games (the Age of Origins developers) only allow one device per account at a time. If you log in on your phone while OriginsBot is running that account, the copy on your Mac is disconnected.

Don’t use an account on two devices at once; it may trigger game security measures.

Why doesn't my game show up, or why can't OriginsBot control it?

OriginsBot lists every copy of the game it finds in PlayCover. If one is missing or can’t be controlled:

  • • Game not running: click Launch on its card, or open it from PlayCover.
  • • Input bridge missing: open Help › PlayCover Setup Assistant… and install the bridge for that copy.
  • • Game just updated: updates replace the bridge; run the Setup Assistant again.
  • • Window on another desktop or minimized: move it to the desktop you’re using.
  • • Using BlueStacks: enable Android Debug Bridge in BlueStacks Settings › Advanced.
PlayCover setup guide

A game shows as Disconnected. What should I do?

Try these in order:

  1. Click Launch on its card and wait for the city view.
  2. Make sure its window is on the same desktop as OriginsBot and not minimized.
  3. In the Setup Assistant’s Input Bridge step, click Verify Running Games.
  4. Quit that copy of the game and open it again.

PlayCover

Which PlayCover and game versions do I need?

PlayCover 4.0 or later and Age of Origins 1.3.841 or later, on an Apple Silicon Mac with macOS 14 or later. The Setup Assistant checks all of these and downloads a compatible PlayCover.

macOS says PlayCover can’t be opened.

PlayCover isn’t notarized by Apple yet. Click Done on the warning, then in System Settings › Privacy & Security click Open Anyway next to “PlayCover was blocked”. macOS only asks once.

macOS keeps asking for Screen Recording even though it’s turned on.

macOS is probably still holding the permission from an earlier copy of OriginsBot. To refresh it:

  1. Quit OriginsBot.
  2. Open System Settings › Privacy & Security › Screen & System Audio Recording.
  3. Select OriginsBot in the list and click the – button below it to remove it.
  4. Open OriginsBot again and turn Screen Recording on when it asks.

If it keeps asking after that, let us know on Discord.

Do the game windows need to stay visible?

They need to be on the same desktop as OriginsBot and not minimized; other windows on top of them are fine. That desktop doesn’t have to be the one you’re using. Avoid full screen, which puts each game on its own desktop.

What do I do after Age of Origins updates?

Run Help › PlayCover Setup Assistant… again and reinstall the input bridge for each copy; the update replaces it.

BlueStacks (if you use it instead of PlayCover)

What BlueStacks version should I use?

Use BlueStacks Air for macOS (the latest version available). OriginsBot is designed and tested specifically for macOS. Download it from BlueStacks.com/mac.html

BlueStacks is running slowly. How can I improve performance?

Try these optimizations:

  • • Lower frame rate to 15-20 FPS in BlueStacks Performance settings
  • • Reduce CPU cores and RAM allocation if running multiple instances
  • • Close other applications to free up system resources
  • • Clear BlueStacks cache (Settings → Advanced)
  • • Ensure your Mac has adequate cooling/ventilation

What are the recommended BlueStacks settings?

Display Settings:

  • • Portrait mode: 540 × 960
  • • DPI: 240

Performance Settings:

  • • CPU: Medium (2 cores)
  • • RAM: Standard (2GB)
  • • Frame Rate: 20 FPS

Advanced Settings:

  • • Android Debug Bridge: Enabled (Critical!)

Can I run multiple BlueStacks instances?

Yes! Use BlueStacks Multi-Instance Manager to create multiple instances. Each instance can run a different Age of Origins account. Keep in mind that each instance uses CPU and RAM, so make sure your Mac has sufficient resources.

Performance

How many instances can I run simultaneously?

It depends on your Mac’s memory and CPU. Start with two or three copies and add more while the Mac stays responsive. Pro can also limit how many run at once (Limit concurrent instances).

Will OriginsBot slow down my Mac?

OriginsBot itself uses few resources; the games are what use memory and CPU. Running fewer copies at once, or limiting concurrent instances, keeps the Mac responsive.

Can I use my Mac while OriginsBot runs?

Yes. Your mouse and keyboard stay free while it runs. To keep the games out of sight, put OriginsBot and all the game windows together on their own desktop (say Desktop 2) and carry on working on Desktop 1. The games just need to share a desktop with OriginsBot, and not be minimized or in full screen. See how to set up a separate desktop.

Running reliably

Features

What tasks can OriginsBot automate?

Free and Pro:

  • • Resource collection from city buildings
  • • Resource gathering from the world map

Pro:

  • • Troop training, by tier or by named unit
  • • Peace Shield management
  • • Resource audits
  • • Daily tasks: Resource Sale, Harvest Skill, Free Recruit
  • • Live screen preview

Does OriginsBot work 24/7?

Yes, while the Mac is on, awake and unlocked. Set Settings › Power Management to Standard or Maximum so it doesn’t sleep, and don’t let the screen lock: macOS stops screen capture while it’s locked. Running reliably

Is my account safe? Will I get banned?

OriginsBot reads the screen and taps like a player would. With PlayCover it delivers taps through a small input plugin that PlayCover loads into the game; it doesn’t change game data or gameplay. With BlueStacks it uses Android’s standard debugging interface.

Any automation tool is used at your own risk. We can’t guarantee that the game’s developers won’t act against automation in the future.

What's the difference between Free and Pro?

Free: One Age of Origins instance with collection and gathering automation, to try OriginsBot out.

Pro: Unlimited instances and every task: troop training (by tier or named unit), Peace Shield management, resource audits, Resource Sale, Harvest Skill and Free Recruit, plus Live Vision Preview (see exactly what the bot sees) and Priority Discord Support. Best for serious players running multiple accounts.
