Minimizing Launch Interruptions (macOS)
Recommended macOS settings to keep OriginsBot and BlueStacks running with minimal visual interruptions.
Understanding the behavior
When a BlueStacks instance launches, macOS may switch to the Desktop (Space) where the new window appears. This is standard macOS behavior designed to bring new windows to the foreground. There is no reliable way to disable this via public APIs, but the configuration below minimizes disruption.
Step 1: Configure Mission Control
- 1.Open System Settings → Desktop & Dock → Mission Control
- 2.Uncheck: “When switching to an application, switch to a Space with open windows for that application”
- 3.Optional: Uncheck “Automatically rearrange Spaces based on most recent use”
Apple’s guide covers Spaces in detail: Work in multiple spaces on Mac.
Step 2: Set BlueStacks MIM to “All Desktops”
- 1.Right-click the Multi-Instance Manager (MIM) title bar
- 2.Select Options → Assign To → All Desktops
- 3.You can minimize MIM—OriginsBot will still access it
Step 3: Assign instances to a dedicated Space
- 1.Go to the Space you want to dedicate to BlueStacks
- 2.Right-click each BlueStacks window → Options → Assign To → This Desktop
- 3.Repeat for all instances; relaunch if needed
What to expect
- You may briefly see macOS switch to the BlueStacks Space during auto-launch
- The switch is momentary; you can immediately return to your workspace
- Use keyboard shortcuts to switch back quickly

Troubleshooting
Spaces still switch even after disabling the setting
Some switching may still occur due to macOS window management—this is expected and does not impact automation.
MIM not accessible from other Spaces
Ensure MIM is set to All Desktops (not “This Desktop”).
Instances appear on the wrong Space
Right-click each BlueStacks window → Options → Assign To → This Desktop, then relaunch if needed.
Too many Spaces
Open Mission Control and remove unwanted Spaces using the ✕ button.
Summary
- Disable “When switching to an application…” in Mission Control
- Set BlueStacks MIM to All Desktops
- Assign all BlueStacks instances to a dedicated Space
Note: Complete prevention of Space switching is not possible with current macOS APIs, but these settings minimize disruption.
